Few attractions in the nation, let alone New Hampshire have it together this well. They have a multitude of other attractions we did not hit, including: segways, rock climbing, shooting gallery, water park style slide, blaster boats & a circus show. The jokes were a little corny but yet with the times & I couldn’t do better myself without making them inappropriate. These bears are not abused in any way like some may assume. These bears have the bruises cut out from their fruit during snack time. The fact these bears are so well cared for & providing said entertainment is even better. Any entertainment from a bear is interesting. Also based on how well things are seemingly going, you may be able to take future generations. The wild man is something young children will create a core memory of. They also have a Baldwin, Climax & Porter. The collection of trains is impressive even to an under 40 train novice. This was also end of season where they must be tired of tourists! They hadn’t overly drank the koolaide with fake smiles but I saw focus, no messing around, no side conversations, comments or cell phones. The other staff members were doing their jobs to a level I’ve not seen in some time. When is the last time a clerk did math on demand in their head for you without typing into the computer “just to make sure”? I bet it’s been a minute. I was delighted by the friendly ticket salesman that was not only welcoming but could also do math in his head for 2 tickets without hesitation. Care was taken at every turn, to enhance the magic or take care of what is there to a level I’ve not seen in some time. Not one cobweb in the train area, not one birds nest, no gum, not one miserable worker. Everything seemed to have a fresh, skilled coat of paint applied. Staff members even in the parking lots picking up trash & guiding guests. To begin, it was the cleanest attraction I’ve been to on the East coast, including Disney. Overall we would probably go again on a coupon, but I think once the kids are old enough will switch over to Water Country.I was impressed at every turn during a summer that I was losing hope for the White Mountains. The lady checking the bags let us through with it, but after we got it set up, the manager came over and said we couldn't use it because of the danger of the wind blowing it over and hurting someone-again, despite the fact that the website said we could bring it?!? We checked the website, which said we could bring our own canopy, and we did. You can rent a cabana, which would be cool, but probably $$$ (we didn't ask though). There are a lot of grassy areas around the perimeter, where you could spread out a towel. Seating/shade: If you get there early, you can get chairs, but there is heavy competition later in the day. (and it is about the same distance for us). I can't imagine paying the full rate, as some other reviewer pointed out, Water Country is not that much more expensive and you get a lot more for the money. We had a Groupon, so the price was good for us. Yeah, I want to pack everything up and go tailgating in your hot parking lot.NOT. Probably because of needing to make lots of money clogging your arteries, they also search everything very thoroughly when you enter the park, making you feel like some sort of criminal. Not great for anyone who wants to eat healthy or has GF diet needs. I thought it was odd that the only actual swimming pool is this little tiny thing over by the slides (maybe half the size of an Olympic pool?) I cannot imagine that anyone over ten years old would like this park, as the only thing to do would be the two water slides, and there is no way I would let my kids swim in the grody pond.įood: It is very annoying that they won't let you bring your own food, and the only choices in the snack bar are overpriced fried foods, burgers, and pizza. My husband enjoyed the water slide, but our kids were not big enough for it. Good for kids: Our 1 and 3 year old loved this place, the kiddie lagoon in the middle is excellent fun for non-swimmers, and the fact that the place is small is a relief to me as a parent because I can keep an eye on everyone without driving myself crazy.
